Wadi Rum Beduland Camp has been welcoming visitors and offering unforgettable travel experiences since 2013. The business was started by our owner, Awdeh Salman who began working with tourists in his early teens. Awdeh started from scratch offering short camel trips and later began assisting on tours and helping his father who cooks local cuisine for large tour groups. After purchasing his first 4-WD truck, Awdeh began working as an official tour guide, offering tours from the Visitor Center. Eventually Awdeh founded the camp, which now has his full focus. Wadi Rum Beduland Camp officially started operating in 2013 and it has been an exciting ride since then.

As a Bedouin from the Al-Zalabieh tribe of Wadi Rum, Awdeh was born and raised in this desert. We are so excited to have the opportunity to introduce the world to our home, Wadi Rum, and to be able to share an important part of our life and culture. Through our business we are able to bring income to our local economy as well as employing local guides, farmers, shepherds and cooks. We are also proud to say that we are able to offer employment opportunities to local women and refugee families who have come to build a new life in Wadi Rum.

The camp itself is charming and cozy, nestled into the foot of a mountain. The surroundings are peaceful and quiet, far away from the village and other camps. It is hidden between two mountains, on an elevated plateau that offers stunning view of our famous desert sunsets and the valley below. As a UNESCO strict nature reserve, Wadi Rum Protected Area desert also boasts a natural dark sky preserve for once in a lifetime views of the stars and milky way.

At Wadi Rum Beduland Camp we strive to offer our guests the most authentic experience of the traditional Bedouin way of life from the food that’s served for dinner down to the rugs we furnish our tents with. We encourage open conversation and are happy to answer any questions our guests have about our ancient traditions and way of life.
