WHERE DO I MEET MY GUIDE WHEN I ARRIVE?

Our meeting point is located here in the village at the REST HOUSE. It is about 6km past the Visitor Center along that same road. The Rest House is located right at the beginning of the village and has the tourist car park beside it so you can’t miss it!

If anyone asks or approaches you, let them know you have your reservation with Awdeh at Wadi Rum Beduland Camp. Please be careful not to leave from the Rest House with anyone other than myself.

It is important that you update us at least 24 hours in advance with your estimated arrival time so we can be sure to properly schedule and coordinate your pickup from the village.

CAN I DRIVE TO THE CAMP MYSELF?

Unfortunately it is not permitted for visitors to Wadi Rum to drive any further than the edge of the village where the paved roads end and the wilderness begins. The camp is around 15km into the desert and is accessible only by 4-WD vehicle. There are no road signs or markers in the desert, only the Bedouin roads. For this reason, driving into the desert without knowing the way to the camp is not advisable for anyone who is not a local. It could lead to your car getting stuck in the sand or your getting lost in the desert. Additionally, driving in the sand without knowledge of the Bedouin roads could result in harming the local ecosystem and habitat of many delicate plant and animal species.

CAN I JOIN A SHARED TOUR?

Yes, it is possible to join a shared tour. If you are interested in sharing a tour, please let us know in advance of your arrival. We will advertise the shared tour availability for other guests who are looking to join a group.
Sharing a tour is dependent on who else is staying with us on your requested date and what their individual preferences are. For this reason we cannot guarantee that everyone who requests a shared tour will be able to be paired with others. We will however do our best to find others who are looking to share a tour with other guests.

HOW DO I PAY?

We operate on a cash only basis. There is no bank or ATM cash machine in Wadi Rum. For this reason, it is important that you plan ahead and be sure to come prepared with any cash you anticipate needing. We accept cash payments in Jordanian Dinars, US Dollars and Euros.

We look forward to setting up a virtual payment option in the near future for your convenience!

CAN YOU ORGANIZE MY TRANSPORTATION TO/ FROM RUM?

Yes, we can arrange your transportation to and from Wadi Rum by private taxi. Please contact us at your earliest convenience to request your transfer by private taxi. See our directions page for more information on booking the taxi and pricing.

There is a tourist bus that runs once daily at 8:30AM from Wadi Rum to Petra. Please let us know if you plan to catch this bus so we can make sure to return you to the village on time.

There is no bus running from Wadi Rum to Aqaba at this time.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/ BRING?

It is a good idea to pack extra clothing to layer with while you are visiting Wadi Rum. The temperature does drop at night once the sun has gone down. For winter months, it is a good idea to pack a light jacket, hat or toque and warm socks. Year round, it is important to bring a hat or something to cover your head with to avoid sun stroke. It is also advisable to bring protective sunscreen, sunglasses and a comfortable pair of walking/ hiking shoes. Please come prepared with your own towel as we do not provide towels. A flashlight is also a useful item to come prepared with.

DO YOU HAVE VEGETARIAN MEAL OPTIONS?

Yes, we host vegetarian guests frequently. If you are a vegetarian, have an allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know at the time of booking. Dietary accommodations cannot be guaranteed without advanced notice.
